O’Level Requirements

O’Level Requirements: Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

On special Cases’

i) FUTO: Five ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology in not more than two sittings.

ii) UNILORIN: Five ‘O’ Level Credit passes at one sitting in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Direct Entry Requirements

For Direct Entry admission to study Optometry, you need ‘A’ level passes in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Zoology.

Special Wavers Remarks

i) ABSU offers a Doctor of Optometry (O.D) and accepts B.Sc in relevant programs, as well as HND/ND of Ophthalmic and Dispensing.

ii) FUTO requires:

• At least three ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
• HND at Upper Credit level in health sciences.
• First Degree with at least a second Class lower Division in health sciences.
• Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects namely Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. It does not accept NCE. Candidates must also meet the ‘O’ Level requirements.

iii) UNILORIN accepts UTME qualifications plus’ Level passes in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with at least 13 Points.
