What is BUK Cut-Off Mark?

Bayero University Kano (BUK) sets cut-off marks as the minimum scores required in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and, if applicable, Post UTME, for eligibility in chosen courses.

The BUK management has announced that “the majority of our cut-off is 180 for most of the courses, but for health sciences courses, it is 200 to 230, while the engineering courses is 190 to 200 and above”.250.

JAMB set minimum admission marks: 160 for universities, 120 for education colleges, and 100 for innovative institutions. Some universities maintain a cut-off of 180, as in previous years.

The official JAMB cut-off mark for Bayero University Kano (BUK) for the 2024/2025 academic session is 180. However, specific courses have higher cut-off marks:

  • Clinical Sciences (MBBS) and Dentistry: 240 and above
  • Pharmaceutical Sciences, Allied Health Sciences (B. Nursing), Allied Health Sciences (B. Medical Laboratory Science): 230 and above
  • Allied Health Sciences (B. Radiography), Allied Health Sciences (Doctor of Optometry), Allied Health Sciences (B. Physiotherapy), Veterinary Medicine: 220 and above

Candidates who meet these cut-off marks are eligible for the internal screening process at BUK. Admission is granted based on the successful completion of the screening exercise. Candidates below the cut-off mark of 180 are advised to consider a change of course or university through JAMB.
